The Arm Lift procedure, also called Brachioplasty, is a procedure performed to improve the aesthetic value of the upper arms. Often after losing a significant amount of weight–in a time that should be spent celebrating a difficult achievement–men and women are left feeling frustrated and self-conscious of left over, sagging skin. Sometimes the skin is unable to bounce back, particularly when the weight loss has occurred quickly as is often seen in bariatric surgery. The arm lift procedure is performed to remove that excess, sagging skin to create a natural looking, more toned arm appearance. The procedure is performed through an incision that runs along the upper, inside of the arm between the elbow and the armpit. It should be noted that Dr. Jacobson always works to hide or minimize the appearance of any scars from surgical procedures, however there will be a permanent scar from this procedure.
